This is a preliminary estimate only based on the information provided. Final pricing may vary based on actual site conditions, local material costs, permitting requirements, and scope changes identified during a site visit.

This estimate includes all typical devices (outlets, switches, smoke detectors), wiring, panel, breakers, ESA permit fees, and labour for a standard new construction project. Light fixtures and any work outside the described scope are not included.

Cornerstone Electrical provides firm written quotes following a site visit at no charge. All prices are in Canadian dollars and include HST (13%).

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before breaking ground.

We work efficiently and respect your build schedule. For an average-sized home, each of our three site visits is typically completed within a single day — so we're in, we're done, and your project keeps moving.

Yes — permits are handled by us and included in your quote. You don't need to worry about paperwork, scheduling inspections, or dealing with the ESA directly. We take care of it from start to finish.

Yes. Cornerstone Electrical holds a valid 309A licence, is registered with the ESA as a licensed electrical contractor, and carries full liability insurance. You're covered.

We service Eastern Ontario and surrounding areas. Not sure if you're in our range? Give us a call — we're happy to discuss your project.

We recommend reaching out before the foundation is poured. This allows us to coordinate with your general contractor from the very beginning and ensure we're scheduled at the right stages of your build. Contact us early to secure your spot on our schedule.

For most new homes, 200A service is the standard and is typically required by ESA for homes over a certain size. 200A gives you capacity for modern demands like EV chargers, electric heating, and future additions without overloading your panel. 100A service may be sufficient for smaller homes or cottages. We'll advise you on the right choice for your specific build.

Both. Whether you're a homeowner managing your own build or a general contractor looking for a reliable electrical sub-trade, we're set up to work with you. We understand schedules, coordination, and the importance of showing up when we say we will.

We keep it simple — 50% is due once rough-in is complete and 50% upon final completion. No large deposits upfront, and you only pay when the work is done.

Changes after rough-in are possible but can add cost and time depending on what's involved. Some additions are simple — others may require opening walls or rerouting wire that's already been run. The best time to make changes is before rough-in begins. We're always happy to discuss additions and will provide pricing before any extra work is done.

This tool is designed to give you a realistic ballpark based on the most common variables in a new construction electrical project. It uses real material costs, labour rates, and our actual pricing structure. Most customers find the final quote comes in close to the estimate — however, every home is different and a site visit is always required before a firm price is given.

This estimate reflects typical costs for a home of your size and configuration. Once we complete a site visit we'll provide a firm written quote. In most cases the final price lands very close to the estimate — the main variables are actual site distances, scope changes, and material costs at time of purchase. We'll always communicate any changes before work begins and nothing moves forward without your approval.
